@js @dave The business model means it won’t be open. You send Apple the m3u8 playlist (only) through the existing subscription API. That way, Apple knows who to bill for the dynamic ads, which they will charge for.
Without any mechanism of billing, I see it as unlikely that it will be open to self-hosting podcasters.

@sister_ratched I did know it - I did some weird school project (sheet of cardboard) in which I had pasted pictures of various animals and I had detailed each animal's gestation period next this they picture. Have no idea why.

with the upcoming HLS video support in Apple Podcasts, looking forward to hosting companies _also_ using the open standard for this (using podcast:alternateEnclosure) in the same feed, why not?
