Lots of romance there, & black & purple covers, so their latest book stood out.

It's not that big of a lift to add either Strike OAuth or NWC to your app and setup a service to store the metadata.
boostbox.cloud is an open source version that you could use - but the schema is pretty simple - https://github.com/noblepayne/boostbox

Ideally we have both feed_guid and item_guid to be 100% sure we are matching and applying support stats to the right episode.
