In news that hasn't really shocked anyone, it can be confirmed that The Trump Organization has announced plans to build a tower on the Gold Coast glitter strip.
The US Presidentβs family decided on the 'heart of Surfers Paradise' to build the Trump International Hotel & Tower Gold Coast - which will be his first project in Australia.
Partnering with local developers, the Gold Coast Trump Tower is expected to become the tallest building in Australia, and it makes sense to build it on 'one of the worldβs most iconic beachfront destinationsβ.
Known for it's bikini-clad metre maids and exotic organised crime syndicates, the Gold Coast has for many years been synonymous with Australians divorcees, retirees and blokes on the run.
It's for this reason that the plans to build a Trump Tower on the Gold Coast hasn't really moved the dial in the Australian news cycle.
While the Australian media and political class is aghast at the proposal, given the turbulent affect that President Trump's trade tariffs have had on the global economy, the news has been received by the general public with as much fanfare as a ripple in the Nerang River.
in fact, most Australians say they could've sworn that the Gold Coast already had a Trump Tower.
"I mean, if they were gonna build a Trump Tower anywhere..." says Brisbane landscaper, Jack Aranda (50).
These sentiments are shared by Kingscliff resident, Diane Sauce (38, bistro manager).
"Yeah that sounds about right. The Goldie suits the Trumps. They strike me as the white shoe types"
"Don't they have a Versace hotel down the Goldie? Then you've got Jupiters Casino. Hooters, Hogsbreath... You've literally got a strip club called Sin City. If anything I think this news is overdue"
Not only does the Australian public think that a Trump Tower on the Gold Coast is more than appropriate, but many say that the US President could not have decided on a more agreeable political environment then the southern Queensland coastline.
"Just look at this from an outsider's perspective" says Gold Coast resident and interstate coach driver, Grayson Hound (62).
"You've got Crisafulli as the Premier and Tom Tate as the mayor. These blokes won't even need to put forward a DA"
"The only hurdle I can see is the Trump family facing is the CFMEU. Forget the Mexican cartels, forget Iran... The US President is in for a shock when he has to start negotiating with the Queensland construction union"

@msdropbear Reckon there'll be any Gold Coast left, by the time it gets built? They already have to truck in sand. As Miss Mermaid Beach 1970 said "The Gold Coast just isn't, ya know?" @cheryanne @Sheep_Overboard

The Trump Tower of Tawdry@cheryanne if this shitty thing actually somehow does get built, i reckon its opening night ceremony should be commemorated in the grand style of Irwin Allen... @Tooden @Sheep_Overboard -
