i found this enlightening.
my door has a metal handle, but with a card scanner.My card fails to scan a lot, the mechanism protesting with a loud "beep".
I tap the card, beep.
I slide the card, beep.
i slide the card upside-down, beep.
I carefully caress the scanner while introducing it to the card and it finally lets me in.It is humiliating. It feels like I was forced to dance, and would only be permitted to enter my home if it liked my performance.
