Arvo, Toots! 10 more sleeps until #caitycanberravisit and I am starting to get very excited!

A few last medical appointments to deal with before I go, hoping none of them are going to try and stop me (pbbbbthhht, let them try, unless they ACTUALLY have to throw me in hospital over a bloody test result - touch wood - I'm going!)

Things I really want to do in Canberra, in case anyone feels like joining me, and I will have my walking stick and be sitting a lot:

    National Gallery
    Portrait Gallery
Canberra Museum and Gallery (there's a couple of exhibitions in there I'd like to see, plus I'd love to see how different the city centre is now)
Possible cheapish dinner on the evening of the 10th?
Or catch up for coffee/gelato one on one if that's more your thing?

Let me know if any of these appeal, I'm not sure which days I'll be doing what.

Message me and I'll give you my phone number, if you like.

@caity Yay!! I'll be in the dinner on the 10th. All those exhibitions are great! I've done them all. Don't forget the city is a construction site at the moment, but the Taglietti at CMAG is worth the effort. The Korean (modern culture) at the National Museum is fabulous too.

@sister_ratched I used to be a member of Canberra Quilters, so there's the 50 years of Canberra Quilters, plus the Nolans, plus the Taglietti, and the jewellery all at CMAG.

I am also determined to get over to Watson to see the Bald Archys! But the friend I'm staying with (in Kingston, he's hired a car while I'm there) is probably interested in those, too.

@marcoarment Of course not. It's just that an LLM will make the next one, and it will probably read like brainfuck

@marcoarment absolutely not. There’s still a need for languages that reduce the amount of boilerplate, increase safety without performance overhead, and with no reliance on the random-code generators. Especially when Anthropic/OpenAI will need to start earning profits from LLMs
