(I tend to know a lot of random trivia)Also, did you know that human gestation is much shorter than it should be (most newborn mammals can walk at birth or shortly after) because somewhere along the way evolution "decided" that the earlier the baby is born, the more social skills it'll get (including language) other skills like walking or pooping properly can wait.

@David Yes, I learned all this only recently. It's fascinating! The only reason I tooted the elephant thing is coz a baby elephant has just been born in France (yuuuuuuge! 150kg), so of course I went down a rabbit hole.

@sister_ratched I did know it - I did some weird school project (sheet of cardboard) in which I had pasted pictures of various animals and I had detailed each animal's gestation period next to their picture. Have no idea why.
