Those of you that know me - know I hate wasting anything. I’ve had 3 little bits of soap sitting in a container, it takes me a while to get through a cake of soap, so these are pretty old & I’ve had them above the kitchen sink for a quite some time. I grab one if I need to wash my hands in the kitchen.
Anyhoo - I was doing my dishes & wondering if I could melt these together in the microwave.
Below is the result - they started blowing up like balloons 😂🤣. It’s hilarious, but now they’re cool they’ve only shrunk a little & they still get soapy. So it worked, they just look ugly. Next time I’ll find a container they’ll fit together in & see if that makes a difference. Btw - the brown piece is sandalwood, I love, love, love sandalwood - it smells divine. #NoWaste #Experiment

@feather1952 I love sandalwood too. Does the microwave smell of sandalwood?

Why vanishing? I would have thought the cartoonist's skills translate exceptionally well to the online meme-o-sphere. Last person I would let go.

Link Preview Image The vanishing newspaper cartoonist - Editor and Publisher

When Rob Tornoe sat down with two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Walt Handelsman, the conversation was less about one retirement and more about an extinction. Handelsman’s decision to put down his pen marks another milestone in the quiet collapse of staff editorial cartooning in America. Once a staple of nearly every major daily, the role has dwindled from hundreds of full-time artists to fewer than two dozen nationwide. What’s vanishing isn’t just a job category — it’s a uniquely sharp, visual voice that has long held power to account with ink, irony and outrage.

@js thank you! Fun fact: we soft-launched it last week and we were going to publish our changelog on Monday, showcasing video podcasting via alternate enclosure in Truefans, Fountain, etc. Minutes before we were about to publish it, Apple’s announcement dropped, so we ended up rewriting our changelog from a completely different angle.
