Some podcasts I follow do have a live feed, and a YouTube post later, but I am still there primarily for the audio only. I’m typically driving anyway.
It might make such regularly themed content available via Apple TV however. Even without video.

@js Yeah, I don't know. Chatting with them, Apple seems quite happy for additional podcast hosts to sign up, who wouldn't do any dynamic ads (and therefore this would end up being "free", over and above any bandwidth charges). They just prioritised ones they might get some money out of.

@james did you ask them if a micropublisher (like podnews) would ever be able to participate?

It's too bad the HLS source url is not in the RSS feed, but there's nothing stopping hosts from _also_ putting it in the RSS feed (item-level alternateEnclosure).
