Some things went well when I went out this morning, some things didn’t. The first op shop wasn’t taking donations, the second only accepts things on Thursday & Saturday & finally the recycle shop took the lot & I spoke about 2 other things I have & was told to bring them in & they’d have a look. Then off to Bunnings for more hits & misses. I’ve found something to replace the little wheel that should be on the door frame to push the weather strip down & prevent water getting in. Then searched for fly mesh door curtain & I’d measured my doorway & thought I’d found what I wanted but then had doubts I’d measured correctly & decided to give it a miss until I could check. I had measured correctly - better safe than sorry though & will go & get it tomorrow when I take the other bits & pieces down to the recycle shop
.
Also I’ve had a txt msg to say a work task has been created & a contractor will arrange access within 14days. About time!
I’m done for the day

.Speaking of shopping ... I've had two minor shocks today ... should have known but still worrying ...
Went to buy an item online and didn't even get to the name and address part in Checkout ... as soon as I put in my email address started getting text messages from something called Shop/Shopify ...with security code to use ...
Instantly backed out and blocked ...
Went to another store ... same thing.
Rang the store and seems that is now standard practice in that once we buy one item, the phone and emails are permanently connected ...
I refused to go through Shop/Shopify and managed to place order ...
Now we wait and see what this bloody Shop/Shopify does in the future ... and if my item arrives ...

@MyView @feather1952 I hate Shopify; got caught once and now it appears with relentless persistence. I ignore it, but it is annoying.

@MyView
I’ve had it pop up myself some time ago but I just ignore & mark it as spam. -
@MyView @feather1952 I used Shopify once, when I was in a hurry. Never again, but of course I’m on their list now

@MyView @treleanor
I think that’s what they call them in the US & of course we’re expected to copy them. I’ll keep calling them a walker. -
@feather1952 I dropped off one book I've just finished reading (Juice by Tim Winton) at the local Oxfam secondhand bookshop and came away with 3 more. I'm going to have trouble keeping my suitcase under the weight limit I think
.
PS I recommend the Tim Winton book. It's a man who lives in a climate spawned dystopian future relating his life story. It took a couple of chapters to pull me in but then it was hard to put down.@smitjo
You know I love my books. Always have way too many in the pile by my bed. Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll keep an eye out for it.
Remember before you come home with a suitcase load - there’s always more books

Should be called vibrators!
I had an old one I bought from an op shop a decade age ... in case ... and took it downtown last week ...
The pain the pain!
Hard plastic wheels over the asphalt paths and roads created vibrations up my arms and into my arthritic neck ...
The one I bought has Eva Wheels apparently that don't vibrate ...we will see if I use the 30 day return offer ...

I shouldn’t laugh but your name for the walker did make me chuckle.
I’m sorry how it affected you to use it though, that’s awful. I hope the new one is better. -

@MyView @feather1952 that’s so horrible. You never really know with these things until you actually use them. Terrific that you have the 30 day return option

@Susan60 @treleanor @MyView @feather1952 After all, the original punks are now using them...

@MyView Chemist Warehouse has them, the Walker brand, and they are cheap. @treleanor @feather1952

I love it. My favourite was a red one of similar material to yours & also had an embroidered bodice. I was a size 10 back then - 14 now
. I’ve move countries since then so nearly everything but photos have gone. -
@Susan60 @treleanor @feather1952
Small shopping is what I hate so I made a bag on the old one.
New one is butt ugly but only one with the 'soft' wheels, unless I went up $hundreds for one with pneumatic tyres and not interested in pumping them up all the times.
This is the one I bought and my bag should attach to the back rest.
All the design needs is the front wheels turned around so a bag could hang down properly. ... but they are designed by people who have never used one ...

Wore it for a decade ...
No idea why I kept it ... never kept any other clothing ... maybe as it was worn with last pregnancy ... made damn sure after that
