This whole so- called 'ISIS brides' thing is disturbing, particularly Albo's language denigrating them. Sure, some may have had malicious intent, but I'm sure many were dragged off by their husbands without much say in the matter. I'm close to thinking Albo is feeling wedged, in the wake of Bondi.
In any case, the children should not be penalised for what their parents have done. Bring them back, let the kids be cared for by families, and deal with the women on an individual basis. #AusPol@sister_ratched Watch them by all means, but bring them home! It’s a real Australian value to look after a mate who has fallen on hard times.

I think you're right about the women being there due to their husbands choices. I think there might be some who were still children when their parents took them. The only excuse Albanese has for leaving these Australians stranded is that he wants to placate racists and bigots.

Fun fact: we soft-launched it last week and we were going to publish our changelog on Monday, showcasing video podcasting via alternate enclosure in Truefans, Fountain, etc. Minutes before we were about to publish it, Apple’s announcement dropped, so we ended up rewriting our changelog from a completely different angle.

Honestly MORE Peertube servers is only a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
And, yes, sadly, open signups are just trouble. Having even a few barriers to entry, while it does put off some, has helped me keep the server fairly easy to manage. Folks have to ask to get an account. Then I make them ask again for some storage. Then I monitor the videos they put up until I know we're all on equal footing and then let them upload whatever.
It's a lot of work, but there's only been 1 instance of someone attempting to post copyrighted content and I turned them away and they haven't come back.
I'm hoping to offer like 50GB free, and then $1/month or $5/month above that. That little bit of money, those hurdles, show that if someone wants to do that, they're wanting to be a member of a community and not just use us as a dumping ground for content.

@FediThing @fedihost thanks alot - yes TubeFree looks a great option for a video community - and @ozoned was v friendly. Scott Jensen and LABR are great names to see when I first visited, and BT Free in general sounds a top org.
But I'm being drawn back to hosting myself… when I last tried five years ago there was no off-the-shelf and it cost me a ton and lots of headache (someone uploaded a perfect HD copy of Dune before it was out in cinemas, which has been prisonable in the UK!). But €7-15 is really appealing and I know better than having open signup now!
