Did you know people were using capital letters to shout in print as far back as 1856?

This week, I talked with Mastodon's very own technology historian, @glennf, who traced the history of "shouty caps" through centuries of newspapers, old Usenet posts, and even German dialect jokes.

There's also fascinating stuff about typesetters and costs. Check it out!

@mitch @martin It seems a waste of time to be working on this right now. Nobody seems to have any clue about what to do, as evidenced by this short discussion.

        What a great shame.

The township gateway signs just say “SPRING PLEASE!”

The DPW chief said in the first week of February we had enough salt for only two more storms because a barge had been stuck outside of port.

My condo association has realized almost $30,000 in snow removal costs this season which is gonna be hard to make up in deferred landscaping to stay on budget.

        Now forecast 4-8 inches again.

        I’m done with it.
