    The new TrueFans analytics dashboard for creators shows both the Total Play Counts across all apps and Total Listen Time broken down by app. We achieve this by streaming episodes (no downloads) both MP3/MP4 as well as HLS.

    What we are now seeing are the numerous AI bots streaming each episode, sometimes for hours.

    We have added a bot filter to enable creators to see their true play and listen time numbers.

    We will be adding more BOTs to the OPAWG Bot list.

        @samsethi @js How could a robot 🤖 press the play button? 😉

          @Lyceum @js they don’t press play they suck in the RSS feed and listen sometimes multiple times to each episode.

              @DavidMarzalC @js exactly. I need to check if it’s in the OPAWG list or if our code hasn’t picked it up. But either way we will tag it in the future along with other bots.

              This is NOT TrueFans blocking the bots but just letting podcasters see their data clean without Bots.

              Step 2 will be to let podcasters choose to block individual bots and we can then do that on the server but for now we wanted podcasters to see how many bots are hitting our servers and listening for hours.

                Jack Dorsey just let 40% of Block employees go. Block are highly profitable but Jack says AI can replace the people. Stock went up 20% on the announcement.

                The Industrial Revolution displaced people. The Digital Revolution did the same. I guess we are in the AI Revolution. What will people do next?
