@StevenB @Darren Do you have the code for this on Github? This lets you submit podpings but it doesn't give any confirmation that it made it on the Hive blockchain.

I was going to take a look at the code for podping.watch to add something to monitor the Hive chain, but if you're interested, here's the repos.

It's ultimately some really basic JSON RPC calls.

You can follow the logic here. Don't need any special hive library.

I mean, you can use spurlock's websocket if you want. I try to promote more decentralization.

@alecksgates @StevenB Isn't Hive HTTP/WebSocket based? I'll have to look into it more.

Primarily JSON-RPC, which is over HTTP.

I'm going to try to get the hive writer changes done tonight to help mitigate this for podping.cloud.

Ultimately we are going to try to get a non-Hive solution in place. I have a decent plan but I want to hear what @dave thinks about it first.

Unfortunately, the next few months are going to be very busy for me between work and moving states. And I'm just a volunteer with all this.

@alecksgates @StevenB @dave What was the Hive issue? I wonder if it's the same issue I ran into with my IRC bot a couple weeks ago.

I had to switch my list of endpoints because many of them were rejecting or failing on my requests.

We think it's just the list of endpoints. It hasn't been updated in 2 years. So I'm going to update the list and make it configurable.

Maybe have dave provide an endpoint of known good endpoints the user can opt-in to using.

On the bright side I know how to install a dishwasher now. And tomorrow morning I'll be learning how to use a drain line power auger. So, I'll have two new skills.

I've pulled/installed more transmissions in my life than any normal person should, so that one is just stress with no upside.
