The app also incorporates transcript, funding, and person tags. We want to reimagine what a podcast app can be with these new features while maintaining our long-term commitment to open standards and RSS. We feel the podcasting ecosystem is evolving and the apps in this space need to evolve as well so they aren’t left behind."

@dave LOL! I worked for a startup that did this exact same thing about 6 years ago and was acquired by Spotify. Spotify currently holds the patents on the technology.

@mikek999 @dave The patents you reference refer to personalized snippets or selecting parts of audio files. This app is not doing that. Instead we are just recommending podcasts and playing audio the podcast creator has specifically marked as a trailer. The whole point is to work within the bounds of the creator intent
