Then there's multiple replies that say they're clearly doing it wrong as it shouldn't outright delete the bank accounts, maybe just drain some funds.

@thomasfuchs@hachyderm.io heh, yeah, they take initiative sometimes when they shouldn't, but it's usually not that bad - and how you write prompts plays a HUGE role. You can also set some default guidelines for the LLM to always follow, for example set permissions etc. As with every tool, you have to learn how to use it for better results.

@thomasfuchs So, my company has decided that all software engineers are going to start using AI code gen this year, and I've spent the last couple days kicking the tires about it. To my great annoyance, it's pretty effective. When people are like, "Make me a whole app and deploy it to production immediately!!!" then, yeah, it's going to mess up big time. But, as an experienced engineer I can say, "I want this feature, in these files, with unit tests," and it'll do it and be 95% correct. If it's very wrong, well, I'm using git and it's not allowed to commit anything on its own. It's probably "saved" me a couple hours this week.
Don't get me wrong, I hate it. Programming is the thing I like to do. I do a lot of my thinking about a problem in code in the first place. Writing technical Jira stories and babysitting (then cleaning up after) an LLM is not what I signed up for, and even if we put aside the ridiculously unethical nature of this machine, I doubt I'll ever come to enjoy the new process. But, it does output the code I ask it to.

@thomasfuchs and funds it drains with people blatantly paying for more and more tokens. What will those people do when they raise prices over and over?

@js mmm... They uploaded web page URL instead of a playlist. We don't host files in the alternate enclosure yet, so it's not easy verify the content, and users can make formal mistakes. As an improvement, at minimum we will add URL extension validation to prevent major errors (so no .html extension would be allowed if .m3u8 is expected).

I need another event where I can test out this scavenger hunt web app that I built last year.
I made a bunch of edits to it over the weekend, and it should be a lot easier for folks to take and host their own version with their own game!
Now I need to do real testing with NFC tags (something that I skipped for security purposes the first time), and tag a proper release.

#Holos 1.0.0-rc-3 has been published. This release now integrates #HolosDiscover for searches and to display trending. You can also block domains and sync remote blocking lists of domains. You can also import your list of blocked accounts. Account deletion is now possible through the app.
