    Testing out the electric lift chair (a recliner) we had for mum. Think it'll do nicely for when i'm recovering from kidney surgery. If getting in/out of bed too hard the first few days home, it'll even do to sleep in. Lovely soft gentle fabric (to avoid pressure injury) so ideal, really.

        @feather1952 yeah. It's a pretty good one too. Two motors so i can adjust the back and leg rest separately. Goes back fully flat too.

          @psychopoesie hang onto it until it dies. You can't sell it, there are too many on Gumtree / Ebay / etc. Home care packages mean govt pays for new ones for people that need them, so there's a glut from when such people transition into care etc.

          From someone who had *three* to get rid of, and charity pickup only accepted two so other went to the tip.

            @pelicangut figured the same. Sold the previous one (brand new essentially) to a family member for cheap and was happy to (would have given it away but they insisted). So it went to a good home. Nothing wrong with this one and very handy in situations like this.
