As you will have gathered I am a strict traditionalist in these matters and I think that precedence should be applied with firm rigour.

doubt they’ll ever lock him up — the worst that *might* happen is house arrest. if anne is out and about visiting prisons, she won’t want to bump into him there

house arrest would be better than nothing, cos the attention deprivation would do his head in

sad that so many news reports are focused on his sex crimes, when the only reason he has been questioned is cos he was caught grifting. (selling confidential papers for payment).
(pictures in my head of andrew and trump oceans apart, both sitting on the xitter, going thru state papers to see what they can sell)

okay, they are all grifters, but what sets him apart is not the sex crime aspect, it’s that he was so clumsy about the grifting.

western culture is not terribly interested in acknowledging sex crimes, cos theoretically it’s not a crime to harm people who do not matter.
        threatening privilege, tho, that’s unforgivable

I don’t take any pleasure in this man’s arrest, nor in anyone’s misfortune. Empathy does not allow it. But I do take a lot of comfort and obtain renewed faith in a legal system which brings a royal to justice. Whether in this instance justice will finally be served remains to be seen, but I sincerely hope it will — for the sake of the victims and as a signal that no one committing such crimes in the #UK will go unpunished.

Can US justice be as relentless?

            @maudenificent

Another interesting aspect is the way Chigger has tried to deal with this.

I think it's quite fair to guess that he was aware of at least the essence of this but he did nothing until it became public knowledge.

He has penalised Andrew, not for being a paedophile, but for being found out.

There is also now a real question regarding succession.

The theory that places Chigger on the throne doesn't take anything other than his genetics into account, and the same applies to rAndy.

If he can be sacked for being a bastard then so can any of them or perhaps the lot en mass.

One of their predecessors, the first Charles was a bit of an embarrassment and a solution was found which silenced him very effectively.

The French, of course, made this into a production line and I personally have no objection to following tradition in this matter.

You are more generous than I Raymond.

This fellow is where he is because he exploited his social position for a level of self indulgence that normal people cannot really even begin to consider.

Andrew's only skill seems to have been to have chosen his parents very well.

I wholeheartedly agree as regards the legal system and as you infer it will be interesting to see how it develops.

                  If at all possible.

Charles will, of course, have no 'connections' through to the senior judiciary so he will be completely incapable of influence.

The other old tradition was to pack them off to somewhere remote with a stipend to avoid them embarrassing their family in the home country.

Australia needs a "no remittance men" statute added to the books tout de suite so they don't ship him off here either.

@merryoscar for sending payments to fountain wallets should we send LNUrl instead of keysend? My apps default to keysend if it's available but I don't think BoostBox is meant for keysend payments so defaulting to keysend doesn't trigger its use.

Still trying to think this all through.
