@ghost_shit It's almost 12 months since our Poppy left us. Last night I got out 2 bedtime chews instead of just 1 for Pearl. It was awful.

We had a very peaceful start to our Sunday: the noodledogs let us sleep until 0715, there was no barking/coughing/tippety-tapping, and there was no vomit/faeces/random excreta to be stepped-in.

@ghost_shit that’s an excellent start! I also have neither this morning from the cats this morning. Do I enjoy it or should I be nervous ‍️

Any guilt I may feel for taking Abi for her final vet visit is countered by the relief of not having her here anymore. This may sound selfish, and it possibly is...

You’ve done what was the best & right thing for your dog, there shouldn’t be any guilt, only some sadness it became necessary & I am very sorry that it came to this for you.

I didn't ... I figured any new ones would outlive me and they would end up in a shelter somewhere ...

Then there's the fact the last 4 houses I've rented had a 'no pets' clause ...

I know they are not supposed to but they just give the rental to somebody else.

I actually got one place because the people lied about not having a lap dog they thought thy could hide ...

@MyView @ghost_shit yeah - we haven't had pets for a few years now - it's just too heartbreaking when they die. I make do with the wild birds who visit the backyard bird feeder and bath.
